The Itambé Granite is one of the seven stocks belonging to the Estrela do Sul Granite Suite in Minas Gerais, occurring in the
vicinity of the homonymous city. This neoproterozoic magmatism occurs intruded in the metasedimentary sequence of the Araxá Group in the southern portion of the Brasília Belt. This work was the product of the emergency need to update the geological maps of the area, because through a preliminary analysis with satellite image treatment, available maps and photointerpretation, it was possible to identify inconsistencies related to the regional geological map possible justified by its large scale of coverage, presenting dimensions, extensions and formats different from those observed in a detailed scale. As a result, it was possible to establish new and real dimensions and extension of the granite, by using remote sensing and geoprocessing techniques, together with systematic geological mapping, where it was possible to spatially remodel the Itambé Granite, which represents a granitic stock of about 6 .2 km²
