The problem of the Anthropocene seen from a historical perspective raises several questions, such as the regimes of historicity and the connections between environmental history and global history. We understand that the historical study of religions is directly connected to the theme of the Anthropocene insofar as religions develop visions of nature (a key concept for the Anthropocene) that have repercussions on it. These elaborations also concern the temporalization of human experience in its dynamics with the spiritual/divine/sacred. Notably, apocalyptic visions, that is, of the end of the world, are remobilized in the time of the Anthropocene. In light of these findings, we will point to some paths that bring together the history of religions and environmental history at the crossroads of the Anthropocene.
