EXPERIENCES OF MENDONÇA POTIGUARA INDIGENOUS WOMEN LEADERS OVER TIME (1990- 2020)

Our objective in this work was to investigate and analyze the experiences of indigenous women leaders from the Mendonça Potiguara Territory in their daily lives, with the aim of understanding how they experienced time from the late 20th century to the first two decades of the 21st century. To achieve this objective, we based our theoretical and methodological approach on Almeida (2010) and Pereira, using the dissertation "Mendonça Indigenous Women: Daily Life, Resistance, and the Fight for Rights in Rio Grande do Norte" by Tayse Campos, an indigenous woman of the Mendonça Potiguara ethnicity. The data analysis resulted in the identification of elements from the Mendonça Potiguara ethnic culture, as well as aspects of non-indigenous culture that they appropriated to redefine their own existence.
