This article investigates the role of women in the Middle Ages, focusing on their contributions to medicine and knowledge. Aiming for a more inclusive narrative, it challenges traditional historiography that often marginalizes these contributions. The methodology combines analysis of written and iconographic sources with a literature review on gender and medical practices, providing a deeper understanding of the cultural norms of the period. The results highlight the relevance of an accessible approach to teaching History, emphasizing female voices and promoting critical reflection on gender roles in medieval society. The conclusion reinforces the importance of integrating public history into education, encouraging a critical medieval historiography for History students.
