This article explores the relationship between Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and fake news, which are increasingly disseminated in the digital era. Fake news can have serious consequences for society, such as influencing elections, compromising society's ability to make informed decisions, and eroding trust in institutions and media. CDA, an interdisciplinary approach that combines critical theory, linguistics, and communication, is used to analyze how discourses are constructed, who constructs them, with what goals, and with what effects on society. The article aims to present the concepts of CDA and fake news, discuss how fake news is disseminated and the challenges to combat them, explore the contributions of CDA to the study of fake news, and identify the limitations and challenges of applying CDA in the context of fake news. The article employs a methodology based on a literature review of academic works and scientific publications to provide a critical and systematic analysis of the existing research on the topic. The article contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between CDA and fake news and provides insight into more effective strategies for combating this phenomenon.
