The contribution of textual genres is notorious in our life since childhood. Among the various existing, we highlight the journalistic, which is present in our daily lives through news in different support. With the pandemic scenario, since the year 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 virus, responsible for COVID-19, was a recurring theme in the headlines. Consequently, with the advancement of the disease, the need for immunization emerged and, posteriorly, the mandatory “Vaccine Passport” expanded. This research is focused on the analysis and reflection of news publications about the “Vaccine Passport” and the use of “direct anaphors” in media texts. Soon, two news items were selected: one from the CNN website and the other from EL PAÍS. The descriptive and quantitative method sought to observe and reflect on whether the news intends to influence readers in making the decision to carry out the vaccination schedule (immunization of at least two doses of the vaccine), and to present the “Vaccine Passport” when requested. The analyzes allowed us to observe the texts and the cohesive process in linguistic relations through pronouns, adverbs, use of connectives, synonyms, nominal expressions, among other essential resources for understanding the genre.
