The various ways of eating and the way of preparing a food is intrinsic and correlated to the taste of a people, as well as folklore, which is anthropologically related to the cultural identity of a society, being directly related to popular wisdom, that is, the knowledge of a community expressed in its cultural creations within specific social groups. Thus, the field researched is Serra da Barriga, specifically the Baobá Restaurant, headed by Mãe Neide Oyá D'Oxum, an ialorixá from Umbanda who sells a so-called desecrated terreiro cuisine to promote ethnic tourism in the region. The present research analyzes the notions of kinship within the kitchen of the saint, relating it to the matrices of hierarchy and parenting in the restaurant's kitchen.Downloads
