This work aims to analyze the referents in female beauty videos of up to 15 minutes shared by influencers on the YouTube platform. This research is a result of the Scientific Initiation Project (PIBIC) developed at the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN) and entitled: The construction of referents in beauty videos on YouTube: interlocutions with elements of the support in the constitution of the discursive genre. The method used in this work is qualitative and bibliographical. For greater depth, we drew on the notions of scholars such as Cavalcante (2014); Marcuschi (2003); Mondada and Dubois (2003); Paveau (2021), among others relevant to our study of referents, in the light of Textual Linguistics and the mediatized aspects found in digital discourse. The research corpus is divided into three parts: the literature review, the data collection and finally, the analysis of the results. The collection of videos resulted in the analytical observation of the videos “Super easy skin for beginners! This one you can do 100%”, by Mari Maria and the production ‘Neutral Self-Makeup’ by Laura Kuczynski. These productions were articulated according to the studies of Referencing. The results of the discussion about the presence of referents in female beauty videos on YouTube revealed both the use of interaction mechanisms and the appearance of referents in media discourse. In short, this work sought to explore the existing intersection between textual linguistics and YouTube videos.
