Abstract: This experience report describes an extension activity focused on food education for children, emphasizing the prevention of obesity and diabetes. The intervention used playful food models and gamified strategies to support the recognition of food groups and to encourage healthier choices. The activity introduced basic concepts of nutrition and metabolic health in an accessible manner, highlighting the role of balanced eating in glycemic control and in preventing insulin resistance. Children showed high engagement, improved food identification skills, and increased awareness of health-protective habits. The experience demonstrates the value of playful educational strategies as preventive tools in school settings.
