This experience report presents the actions developed by a group of undergraduate Mathematics students during an extension project focused on the use of games as an alternative teaching methodology. The activities took place between November 2024 and February 2025, at the Augusto Severo State School, in Natal/RN, with 8th grade elementary school students. The experience focused on the application of educational games to work on Mathematics content, especially the rule of three, seeking to overcome learning difficulties and lack of interest in the subject. The results point to an increase in student engagement and improved understanding of the content. The report dialogues with recent literature on Mathematics teaching, highlighting the importance of active methodologies in the post-pandemic educational context.
