FACISA NO COMBATE AO AVC: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA EXTENSIONISTA DE AÇÕES DE COMBATE E PREVENÇÃO SECUNDÁRIA AO AVC NO INTERIOR DO RN

Abstract

Stroke is the main cause of death and functional disability in Brazil. The objective of this work was to describe the extension actions developed by the project “FACISA NO COMBATE AO AVC 2022: strengthening the PERSONAL STROKE program” in the municipality of Santa Cruz-RN. This is an experience report on health promotion, secondary prevention and rehabilitation actions with a focus on stroke. A secondary prevention and rehabilitation program for post-stroke individuals was developed and activities carried out on primary stroke prevention. The project provided care to 16 patients, in which 192 consultations were carried out. In addition, 5 primary prevention actions were carried out in the community and 1 secondary prevention.
