The present work reports the experience of students from the Center for Alternative and Renewable Energy at the Federal University of Paraíba who worked in the Extension Project entitled "School Power Plant: Training Solar Technologies Competencies" in Pandemic Time. The project's main objective was to transmit knowledge about solar technologies to students from public schools and from the Renewable Energy Engineering course. Two actions were taken: the creation of social networks to share knowledge with schools, universities and society, remotely, and practical workshops in person. The project achieved good final results with regard to the production of teaching materials and, mainly, in the dissemination of knowledge to students, which contributed to a great acceptance and interest of the target audience for renewable energy and, above all, for solar technologies.
