About the new coronavirus pandemic, many actions were taken to combat its spread, such as social isolation. However, many workers, considered essential, continued in their jobs, such as supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, gas stations, pharmacies, among others. These workers are exposed to the risk of contamination, since communication and guidance on ways of contagion are still limited. In this sense, we report here the experience of an extension project that aimed to supply the need to promote information and protect these workers in Passos-MG, offering them masks and informative fôlderes, in addition to “lives”, framing an approach of public health that paid attention to the physical and mental health of workers. Finally, it is concluded that the project was successful in its objectives.
