In this study, we aim to analyze the 'As Muquiranas' Carnival block. The themes chosen by the block over the years can have different meanings and interpretations depending on the cultural, social, and historical context in which they are presented. On one hand, these references to iconic women from popular culture and history can be a way to celebrate and honor the presence and contribution of women in society, highlighting female characters. On the other hand, it is important to remember that women have often been historically subordinated and oppressed, and these themes can reinforce limited imaginaries and ideas about the role of women in society. This work is theoretically and methodologically grounded in the theory of French Discourse Analysis, with Michel Pêcheux and Eni P. Orlandi as its main authors. It is observed, therefore, that acts of violence are carried out by men, and this work is justified by the social relevance of discursively analyzing the actions of heterosexual participants in the 'As Muquiranas' block, as well as the violence committed against women, homosexuals, and transvestites. Therefore, the corpus of this research consists of analyzing a selection of Discursive Sequences taken from Instagram posts related to the 'As Muquiranas' Carnival block.
