Objective: to map the available evidence through a scoping review of the occupational exposure of healthcare professionals in hospital and laboratory environments to potentially disruptive chemical substances, and to discuss work processes that may lead to such exposure. Methods: a search was conducted in the SciELO, BVS, and PubMed databases for articles published between 2018 and 2023, using the descriptors in Portuguese Disruptor Endócrino, Saúde Pública, Esterilização and Produtos Químicos, and in English Endocrine Disruptor, Public Health, Sterilization, and Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals. Primary and secondary studies were included. Selection followed the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Results: Initially, 12,483 articles were identified, most of them related to environmental issues. New combinations of the selected descriptors yielded 65 articles. After screening and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 5 articles were selected. These studies reported the presence of bisphenols in laboratory supplies, volatile organic compounds in cleaning products, and associations between occupational exposure and reproductive parameters. Conclusions: The literature on this topic is scarce, highlighting the need for further investigations to quantitatively assess exposure to EDCs and their long-term effects, to promote safer work environments.
