The objective of this article was to report the experiences of school attendance in the literacy of a student-patient undergoing palliative care treatment of a bone tumor. Palliative care is a set of medical, psychological, social and spiritual care that helps improve the health of patients with life-threatening illnesses. The information was structured from data collected from the patient's medical records and reports of school activities carried out during hospital school care. We noticed that the process of literacy of children with cancer in palliative care involves adjustments for the inclusion of school contents in the hospital environment. In addition, it was possible to perceive that the bond with teachers and the school activities were important to the well-being of the student-patient and their family members during the treatment period.
